Norris Leads Oscar Piastri in Sao Paulo Practice Session
Lando Norris has beaten Oscar Piastri at each of the past five grands prix.
The McLaren driver edged out team-mate and championship contender the Australian for the fastest time in the final moments of practice at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
The British racer, who took the points lead from his teammate by one point after his victory in the Mexican Grand Prix two weeks ago, topped the Australian by a tiny margin of 0.023secs.
Earlier in the session, Piastri had been the quickest of the McLaren pair during the running before the sprint shootout due at 6:30 PM GMT.
The Red Bull star, the sole remaining contender in the championship fight, trailing 36 points behind Norris, finished in 17th place as his Red Bull team opted for a alternative strategy.
His teammate the Japanese driver was the sole competitor to have an incident, if briefly, when he spun at corner four soon after starting.
Tsunoda lost control over the track edges before rotating through the gravel trap, and was lucky to avoid just a minor contact of the barrier.
